Robbery attempt foiled at city bank

A robbery attempt in the branch of public sector bank was foiled as the burglars were unable to open the safe deposit locker, police said today.

Apparently unable to strike gold, they allegedly burnt some documents.

Masked men allegedly entered into the Punjab National Bank, Gopalapuram branch here late last night but left the place as they were unable to open the safe deposit lockers, police said.

The men who entered into the bank after breaking the shutter allegedly burnt some documents before leaving the premises as they were unable to open the lockers, police said.

Forensic experts inspected the spot and some finger print were collected. A case has been registered and further investigation was on, they added.
