Rs 5.72 lakh looted in daylight bank robbery

In a brazen act, a gang of five robbers today looted cash worth over Rs 5 lakhs from a bank in the district.

The accused overpowered the security guard on duty, snatched his rifle and then walked into the strongroom of the Bank of Baroda branch in Bilaspur town, ASP Sadhana Goswami said.

They took Rs 5.72 lakh cash from the chamber and fled from the spot, the officer said, adding that further investigations are on.
