Rumours regarding Rajoana hanging refuted by Jail official

The superintendent of Patiala central jail today refuted rumours about hanging of Balwant Singh Rajoana, a convict on death row in connection with the assassination of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh.

The jail Superintendent, Bhupinderjit Singh Virk today issued a statement, where he clarified that Rajoana is in the jail barrack and under strict vigil of guards.

A case under the Arm's Act against Rajoana is pending in the court and its next hearing is due on Saturday, Virik added.
