Rural works jr engineer held on graft charge

The vigilance department today arrested a junior engineer of rural works department on graft charge from Bihar's Gaya district.

The vigilance department laid a trap following a complaint and caught the junior engineer red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 at his residence, an official release said here.

The accused had demanded the bribe in lieu of making payment against a bill submitted by the complainant for works done by him, it said.
