The SAD-BJP government today sought representation to Punjabis in Central Board of Film Certification to put a check on songs and advertisements which "hurt" the sentiments of people of the state.
On a call attention notice by SAD MLA Maheshinder Singh on "vulgarity" in songs in the state Assembly, Revenue and Cultural Affairs Minister Bikramjit Singh Majithia said "the government is taking up the issue of giving due representation to Punjabis in Censor Board of Government of India."
He further urged that a branch of Board should also be set up in Punjab so that songs and advertisements that hurt the sentiments of others cannot be produced, screened and telecast at all.
