Sailor dies of electric shock on Navy ship

A sailor died of electric shock while maintenance of equipment onboard INS Sindhudhuvaj at Eastern Naval Command here.

The incident took place yesterday, a defence release said today.

Pawan Kumar Pandey sustained injuries at around 3 PM and was immediately given first aid by medical team on-board and shifted to the Naval Hospital INHS Kalyani, it said.

He could not be revived despite best efforts of the doctors, it said, adding an inquiry has been ordered to investigate the incident.
