A lorry, carrying 15 units of sand being smuggled to Kerala, was today seized on the outskirts and two crew members taken into custody for questioning, police said.
Food and Civil Supplies officials, along with police, were carrying out vehicle checks on the Coimbatore-Palakkad highway and stopped the lorry.
On searching it, the officials found sand in the vehicle, which was being taken to Kerala without valid documents, police said.
