Actress Sarah Shahi has been roped in by CBS to play the iconic sleuth Nancy Drew in the network's "Drew" pilot.
The 36-year-old "Person of Interest" star was selected after a lengthy casting search, said The Hollywood Reporter.
The drama, based on the popular book series, revolves around Nancy, now in her 30s and serving as a detective for the NYPD, where she investigates and solves crimes using her uncanny observational skills.

As per the series Nancy grew up solving crimes with her two childhood girlfriends, Bess and George. CBS' version will see her joining the NYPD after college, where she was named the youngest female NYPD homicide detective.
Shahi becomes the latest actress to portray Nancy Drew, who was most recently played by Emma Roberts in the 2007 feature film.
