Police today arrested a sarpanch for allegedly killing a 50-year-old man due to enmity over village head elections, scheduled for later this year.
Yaar Mohammad was today shot dead at village Majiyawa in Koti area here, police said.
Following which an FIR was registered against sitting village head Nizamuddin and two others - Mainuddin and Mustkeem, they said.
The village head was arrested while the others were on the run, police said.
