Applications of the wards of beedi and cine workers of West Bengal are being rejected for not complying with the standard prescribed format needed while applying for scholarships from the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
"It has been noticed that since last 2-3 years, students of various schools and colleges in the state of West Bengal are submitting applications for grant of scholarships directly to this office in an unauthentic manner and not in prescribed proforma," a statement from the welfare commissioner of the ministry said.
All students and parents of the eligible students hailing from the families of beedi and cine workers can only apply for scholarships as per the prescribed norms and procedures which is published every year in the newspapers.
"All applications submitted directly to this office shall be rejected," it said.
