A central Pennsylvania school board member and Republican convention delegate has posted an apology for criticizing a church sign that wished "a blessed Ramadan to our Muslim neighbors."

A message posted today on the Twitter feed of Spring Grove Area district board member Matthew Jansen said: "I do apologize for venting to the church. I was out of line."

The Rev. Christopher Rodkey said the sign outside St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Dallastown was intended to promote tolerance. Jansen called the pastor to complain and posted a photo of the sign on his Twitter feed along with the church's number.

Rodkey told PennLive.Com Monday that he hadn't heard about the tweet, but he'll "accept an apology.
