Very light rainfall was reported in Udaipur in the last 24 hours even as the mercury came down in parts of Rajasthan where blistering heat continued to trouble people across vast swathes of the state.

Bikaner was the hottest place in the state with a maximum of 45.6 degrees Celsius followed by Churu at 45.3 degrees. The mercury in Churu had touched 47.2 degrees yesterday.

Sriganganagar (45.2), Barmer (43.4), Kota (41.8) and Jaipur (41.7) were some of the other sizzling maximums recorded in the state, the MeT office said.

A few places in Udaipur division received traces of rainfall in the last 24 hours, MeT officials added, although they said that the weather in the state was unlikely to see any change in the coming 24 hours.
