Besides local police, companies of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and those from Andhra Preadesh and Telangana are also roped in to ensure that no untoward incident takes place, a police official said Monday.

The official said check posts are being set up on the roads and highways bordering neighbouring states to check flow of transportation of cash, liquor and weapons into the districts where polling will be held.

Measures like launching combing operations, vehicle checking, conducting raids on suspicious persons are being taken, he said.

Polling will be held in Jalgaon, Raver (north Maharashtra), Jalna, Aurangabad (Marathwada), Raigad, Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg (Konkan), Pune, Baramati, Madha, Sangli, Satara, Kolhapur, Hatkanangale (western Maharashtra) and Ahmednagar seats.

The fourth and final phase of voting will be held on April 29.
