Select base metals ease on reduced demand

Meanwhile, aluminium and zinc prices edged up owing to better offtake from consumer industries.

The industrial metals slipped at the LME on investors profit-taking amid caution over US business spending plans.

Copper cable scrap, copper wire bar, brass utensils scrap and brass sheet cutting all moved down by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 494, Rs 523, Rs 325 and Rs 333 from Monday's closing level of Rs 497, Rs 525, Rs 327 and Rs 335.

Copper scrap heavy, copper utensil scrap and copper sheet cutting also softened by a rupee per kg each to Rs 485, Rs 451 and Rs 470, respectively.

 

Aluminium utensil scrap gained by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 118 from Rs 116 and aluminium ingots and zinc inched-up by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 145 and Rs 149.
