Select edible oils rise on pick-up in demand, global cues

Prices of select edible oils rose up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market in the national capital today amid pick-up in demand from retailers and a firm global trend.

In the non-edible section, castor oil moved up on increased offtake by industrial units.

Marketmen said besides pick-up in demand from retailers, a firm global trend mainly led to the rise in select edible oil prices.

Meanwhile, palm prices climbed 0.6 per cent to 2,205 ringgit (USD 607) a metric tonne on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives.

In the national capital, palmolein (rbd) and palmolein (Kandla) oils moved up by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,500 and Rs 5,400 per quintal, respectively. Crude palm oil (ex-kandla) edged up by Rs 50 to Rs 4,250 per quintal.
 

Soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (Kandla) oils also enquired higher by Rs 100 each to Rs 6,600 and Rs 6,300 per quintal, respectively.

In the non-edible section, castor oil traded higher by Rs 50 to Rs 9,650-9,750 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Oilseeds: Mustard seed Rs 2,950-3,050 and Groundnut seed Rs 2,150-2,900. Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) Rs 930-1,070.

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) Rs 8,550, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) Rs 1,500-1,550, Mustard expeller (Dadri) Rs 7,000, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,190-1,240, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,240-1,340, sesame mill delivery Rs 7,400, Soyabean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) Rs 6,600, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) Rs 6,300, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) Rs 4,250, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) Rs 5,450, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 5,500, Palmolein (Kandla) Rs 5,400 and Coconut (per tin) Rs 2,350-2,400.

Non-edible oils: Linseed Rs 8,300, Castor Rs 9,650-9,750, Neem Rs 5,350-5,450.
