Select freight rates up

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section to select destinations rose by Rs 500 in the local truck transport market today following busy cargo movements.

Transporters said pickup in cargo movements against tight position of trucks, mainly pushed up freight rates for some destinations.

New Delhi to Chandigarh, Ludhiana and Gwalior freight rates were higher by Rs 500 each to Rs 18,000, Rs 19,000 and Rs 16,000.
