Select pulses fall further as supplies improve

Select pulses led by gram drifted further lower by Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today, dragged down by pick up in supplies after the government took steps to curb rising prices amid slackened demand at current levels.

Traders said besides easing demand from retailers at current levels against ample stocks on the back of improved supplies after government's measures to curb rising prices, mainly kept pressure on select pulses prices.

In the national capital, gram, gramdal local and best quality remained weak and shed another Rs 200 each to Rs 7,300-7,800, Rs 7,600-7,900 and Rs 8,000-8,100 per quintal, respectively.
 

Urad and its dal chilka local dropped by Rs 200 each to Rs 10,500-12,000 and Rs 10,800-10,900 per quintal, respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 10,900-11,400 and Rs 11,300-11,600 per quintal.

Moong and its dal chilka local too moved down by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,900-6,500 and Rs 6,450-6,850 per quintal, respectively. Its dal dhoya local and best quality enquired lower by a similar margin to Rs 6,850-7,350 and Rs 7,350-7,550 per quintal.

Urad Rs 10,500-12,000, Urad Chilka (local) Rs 10,800-10,900, Urad best Rs 10,900-11,400, Dhoya Rs 11,300-11,600, Moong Rs 5,900-6,500, Dal Moong Chilka local Rs 6,450-6,850, Moong Dhoya local Rs 6,850-7,350 and best quality Rs 7,350-7,550.

Masoor small Rs 6,050-6,350, bold Rs 6,100-6,400, Dal Masoor local Rs 6,600-7,100, best quality Rs 6,700-7,200, Malka local Rs 7,100-7,400, best Rs 7,200-7,500, Moth Rs 5,500-5,900, Arhar Rs 9,100, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 11,900-13,600.

Gram Rs 7,300-7,800, Gram dal (local) Rs 7,600-7,900, best quality Rs 8,000-8,100, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 3,350,Rajdhani Rs 3,350, Rajma Chitra Rs 5,700-6,950, Kabuli Gram small Rs 8,200-9,400, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,400-5,600, Peas white Rs 3,600-3,625 and green Rs 3,800-3,900.
