Seven drug peddlers arrested in Kashmir

Seven drug peddlers were today arrested in Shopian district of Kashmir and a huge quantity of a banned substance was recovered from their possession.

On a specific information, police today conducted raids at various places and arrested seven people and recovered 155 bottles of 'Codeine Phosphate' from their possession, a police spokesman said here.

The banned drug was meant for sale to local youths in the district, he said.

A case has been registered under NDPS Act and investigations have been started, the spokesman said, adding more arrests and recoveries are expected.
