Seven killed in road mishap in Chhattisgarh

Seven people, including three women and two minor girls, were killed and two others injured when their SUV collided with a truck in Chhattisgarhs Kondagaon district Friday night, police said.

The incident occurred at around 9 pm on the Raipur- Jagdalpur highwaynear Dudhgaon village under Kondagaon police station limits when the SUV was heading towards Jagdalpur, a local police official said.

The vehicle collided head-on with the truck coming from the opposite direction, leaving three people, including the SUV driver, dead on the spot, he said.

Four others succumbed during treatment at a local hospital, he added.

The two injured were undergoing treatment at the hospital.

 

Efforts were on to trace the truck driver who fled the spot after the mishap, the official said.
