Seven thatched houses gutted

Seven thatched houses were gutted in a fire here today.

There were no casualties, officials said.

The fire broke out in a thatched house and spread to nearby houses.

Fire service personnel extinguished the blaze in which utensils, electronic goods and jewels, among others, were destroyed.

The damage is being estimated.
