Shimla and adjoining areas were lashed by a severe thunderstorm accompanied by intermittent showers this evening.
Rohtang Pass was closed again following fresh snowfall in high altitude tribal areas and other higher reaches.
A large number of vehicles were stranded on either side of Rohtang Pass and people on the way to Manali were stranded at Koksar.
One ailing person was sent to Manali through Rohtang Tunnel and all other stranded people were safe, SDM Lahaul Amar Negi said. Rescue posts have been set up at Koksar and Mari.
Rohtang Pass, Kothi, Mari and Sisu recorded 30 cm, 20 cm, 14 cm and 5 cm of snow till this evening, reports reaching here said.

Keylong was coldest in the region with a low of 3.3 degrees Celsius while Kalpa and Manali recorded minimum temperatures at 3.4 degrees Celsius and 5.6 degrees Celsius, followed by 12.5 degrees Celsius in Bhuntar, 13.5 degrees Celsius in Solan and Sundernagar, 14.0 degrees Celsius in Shimla, 14.2 degrees Celsius in Dharamshala, 16.5 degrees Celsius in Palampur, 17.8 degrees Celsius in Una and 21.5 degree Celsius in Nahan.
Una was hottest in the region with a high of 38 degrees Celsius while Nahan , Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded a high of 33.3 degrees Celsius, 32.9 degrees Celsius and 31.0 degrees Celsius, followed by 29.0 degrees Celsius in Solan, 27.6 degrees Celsius in Dharamshala, 24.1 degrees Celsius in Shimla, 27.4 degrees Celsius in Kalpa and 10.4 degrees Celsius in Keylong.
