Veteran bollywood actress Shabana Azmi and her writer husband Javed Akhtar walked the fashion runway together for the first time at the ongoing India International Jewellery Week (IIJW) ramp here.
Azmi and Akhtar were greeted with a thunderous applause as they walked down the ramp for Golecha Jewels.
While the 61-year-old actress glided in like royalty in a red and black lehenga and an emerald polki necklace, Akhtar sported a ruby emerald and pearl brooch on his black sherwani.
Titled 'Royal Indian Brides', the collection featured exquisite rose cut diamonds, uncut diamonds, pearls, rubies and emeralds.
Golecha has created jewellery for various Bollywood films like "Umrao Jaan", "Luck by Chance" and "Drona" besides the Miss India Universe pageant crowns.
The ethnic bridal creations were designed by ace fashion designer Vikram Phadnis.
