Sheosagar block of Rohtas declared ODF

Sheosagar block of Bihar's Rohtas district was declared "Open Defecation Free" by the community at a grand function today.

Sheosagar becomes the sixth block of Rohtas district to be declared ODF after Sanjhouli, Tilouthu, Dawat, Suryupura and Naukha.

Mission Director, Lohiya Swachh Bihar Abhiyan Balamurgan. D, District Magistrate of Rohtas Animesh Prasar and UNICEF Bihar WASH specialist Pravin More were present at the ODF declaration ceremony of Sheosagar Block.

Speaking on the occasion Balamurgan. D said that the excitement among the people shows their commitment towards cleanliness and in the coming days Rohtas will set an example for other districts to follow.
 

Sheosagar block comprises 16 Panchayats, 219 Wards, 161 Villages and 28,004 rural households. During its special campaign, in the past six month, the Block team convinced 1.75 lakhs citizens to stop open defecation practice and adopt toilet facility. 16,232 household built toilet during the Block ODF campaign, a UNICEF statement said.
