SHGs are effective in ameliorating economic status of members

Puducherry Local Administration Minister N G Panneerselvam today said that self-help groups were effective in ameliorating the economic lot of their members.

Panneerselvam was distributing Rs 9.27 lakh as loan under revolving fund scheme evolved by Local Administration department to four self-help groups at Oulgaret block near here.

He said self-help groups, particularly those formed by women, were proving their relevance and necessity in improving economic status of their members by promoting self-employment projects.
