A shutdown was observed today in Jammu and Kashmir's Banihal and Bhaderwah towns on the first death anniversary of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist commander Burhan Wani, amid tight security in the Jammu region.
Shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the roads at Banihal and Bhaderwah in Ramban and Doda districts following a shutdown call given by a religious organisation.
However, some shops and business establishments remained open in Bhaderwah.
Security personnel patrolled areas throughout the day and there were no reports of any untoward incidents, police said.
