Silver futures were trading slightly lower at Rs 48,020 per kg on Wednesday as participants cut down their bets, taking weak cues from overseas markets.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for December delivery dropped by Rs 4, or 0.02 per cent, to Rs 48,020 per kg in a business turnover of 3,757 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for March delivery traded lower by Rs 108, or 0.22 per cent, at Rs 48,945 per kg in a business volume of 18 lots.
In the international market, silver fell 0.37 per cent to USD 18.56 an ounce in New York.
Traders said the fall in silver prices at futures trade was largely in line with a weak trend in precious metals in global markets.
