Sisters allege harassment by husbands, in-laws over dowry

Two married sisters in Shamli district have accused their husbands and in-laws of harassing them over dowry, police said today.

The victim sisters had married the brothers, Hashim and Kasim, in Abdannagar village a few months back. The brothers allegedly started harrasing the victims over dowry and also forcibly sodomised them, they said.

The sisters were also harassed over dowry by their father-in-law Yasin and mother-in-law Bano.

"We have registered a case against the two husbands (brothers) and their parents, and are further investigating the case," a police official said.
