The Wanted star Siva Kaneswaran is engaged to his longtime girlfriend Nareesha McCaffrey.
The 25-year-old singer revealed he caught shoe designer McCaffrey off-guard with his proposal as she planned to throw him a surprise birthday party in November, but he decided to turn the tables on her and transformed it into an engagement party, reported Contactmusic.
"It was like a military operation to plan the proposal. I couldn't even tell the other boys in the band in case they blew the surprise," Kaneswaran said.
"I said to her, 'I wanted a present I would always remember this year by - for you to be my wife.' I'd bought the ring months before I'd been trying to figure out the right time. I love her, I love every bit of her," he added.
The singer specially designed a three-carat diamond solitaire ring for his now-fiancee, who was initially too overwhelmed and declined his lavish proposal, but eventually accepted.
McCaffrey and Kaneswaran have been dating for the past six years.
Kaneswaran is not the first member of The Wanted to be engaged - his bandmate Max George was previously set to wed British actress Michelle Keegan, but the couple split in 2012.
