Six killed in China tunnel collapse

Six workers were killed and two others injured today when an under-construction tunnel collapsed in east China's Anhui Province.

The accident happened at about 12:53 am local time in the tunnel being built for a highway bridge across the Yangtze River near Dongzhi County of Chizhou City, a county government spokesman was quoted as saying by state-run Xinhua news agency.

The injured have been admitted to a local hospital, the spokesman said.
