Uttar Pradesh got some respite from the biting cold conditions as mercury rose at several places across the state.
However, Najibabad at 4 degrees Celsius was the coldest place in the state, a MeT official said.
Night temperature rose appreciably in Gorakhpur division, fell appreciably in Jhansi division, fell in Allahabad, Bareilly, Moradabad divisions and changed little in the remaining division of the state.
It was appreciably above normal in Varanasi, Faizabad, Allahabad divisions, above normal in Gorakhpur and normal in the remaining divisions of the state.
Chief amount of rainfall recorded in cms was at Ghazipur, Maharajganj, Basti and Kheri, 1 each.
MeT officials forecast that the weather would be mainly dry and moderate fog would occur at a few places in the state.
