Small sugar surge on millers offtake

Small sugar prices surged at the Vashi wholesale market here today on good demand from stockists and bulk consumers coupled with millers offtake.

While, medium sugar eased due to subdued demand from retailers.

Small sugar (S-30) fell by Rs 27/24 per quintal to Rs 2,162/2,256 from last weekend's level of Rs 2,135/2,232.

However, medium sugar (M-30) moved down by Rs 6 per quintal to Rs 2,236/2,382 as compared to Rs 2,242/2,382.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,162/2,256 (Rs 2,135/2,232).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,236/2,382 (Rs 2,242/2,382).
