Smuggler held with 2.3 kgs heroin

A total of 2.3 kgs heroin valued at about Rs 4 crore in the international blackmarket was seized from a smuggler in this district today, a senior official said.

The person was travelling in a bus near Nundhara chowk on Indo-Nepal border at the time, SSB DIG A K Malik said.

Acting on a tip off, personnel of the 36 battalion of SSB carried out a search in the bus and arrested the person.

The smuggler had brought the haul from West Bengal to supply it to a client in Nepal, Malik added.
