Southern Air Command chief Air Marshal R K S Bhadauria today inaugurated a conference of An-32 operators near here and emphasised the need for optimum utilisation of professional and operational competence, training and resources.
He also shared his experiences in this regard at the conference on An-32, a transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force, held at the IAF base in Sulur, a Defence release said.
The Air Marshal talked about the importance of operational preparedness of the Sulur Base, a premier base under the Southern Air Command headquartered in Thiruvananthapuram.
Senior Maintenance Staff Officer, Southern Air Command, Air Vice Marshal S Choudhary highlighted the pivotal role of maintenance branch in IAF to keep war machinery combat ready, the release said.
The gathering was updated on the progress of various Make in India projects for the sustenance of An-32 fleet, a key flying asset of the air force.
Various innovative ideas also emerged during the discussions to improve the operational capability of the An-32, the release added.
