Soybean prices firmed up by Rs 36 to Rs 3,728 per quintal in futures trading today as traders went for long positions thanks to upbeat trend overseas.
Market players said speculators interested in raising exposures in tune with rising prices overseas, which reflected uptick in soybean futures prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, soybean delivery for the most traded May month hardened by Rs 36 or 0.98 per cent to Rs 3,728 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,78,450 lots.
The June month contract also advanced by Rs 35 or 0.93 per cent to Rs 3,788 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 83,350 lots.
