Scores of SP youth wing activists today staged a demonstration against the visit of Amit Shah and released black balloons in the air outside the hotel where the BJP president held a meeting.
Superintendent of Police (Crime) O P Singh said the demonstration by the Samajwadi Yuvjan Sabha took place before Shah arrived at the hotel and ten activists were detained by the police.
The protesters were later released, the SP said.

Ashish Choubey, who was leading the protest, said that they were protesting against Shah.
Meanwhile, followers of former BJP leader Sanjay Joshi took out a rally demanding that he be taken back into the party fold. Police intervened and stopped the rally from reaching Amit Shah's meeting venue.
Later, some Aam Aadmi Party workers reached the meeting venue around 4 PM and sought a meeting with Shah, sources claimed, adding that the BJP workers present there thrashed them and chased them away.
Two AAP workers were injured in the melee, the sources said, though SP Singh said that no FIR has been filed in this regard yet.
Shah held a meeting with state leaders and MLAs here to discuss strategies for the 2017 Assembly election and party's mass contact programme.
