A special team has been formed to nab the van driver who escaped with Rs 28 lakh meant to be filled in a public sector bank's ATM at the airport here, police said today.

A special team of four personnel has been formed to nab the driver and it has started its investigation into the matter, they said.

The 37 year-old Udaya Kumar had allegedly escaped with the money last night.

Three persons, including Udaya Kumar, had arrived at the airport in the vehicle to fill cash in the ATM.

After two of them stepped out of the van and proceeded towards the kiosk, Kumar suddenly gave the slip with the box containing the cash before abandoning the vehicle at a nearby spot.
