After bringing "Band of Brothers" in 2001 and "The Pacific" in 2010, the Oscar-winning director and the Oscar-winning actor are reuniting for their third World War II project, reported Aceshowbiz.
The untitled project will use historian Donald L Miller's non-fiction tome "Masters of the Air: America's Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany" as its source material.
The upcoming miniseries will focus on the aerial wars through the eyes of enlisted men of the Eighth Air Force, known as the men of the Mighty Eighth.
Spielberg and Hanks will serve as executive producers, joined by Gary Goetzman. The project has been in development for months and is now moving forward as they have acquired the right to "Masters of the Air".
