Refined soya oil prices were up by 0.35 per cent to Rs 683.40 per 10 kg in futures market today as traders built up fresh positions amid pick up in demand at the domestic spot markets against restricted arrivals from producing belts.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in March rose by Rs 2.40, or 0.35 per cent to Rs 683.40 per 10 kg with an open interest of 40,650 lots.
On similar lines, the oil for delivery in February contracts was trading higher by Rs 1.60, or 0.23 per cent to Rs 694.80 per 10 kg in 35,870 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by participants due to upsurge in demand at the physical market against restricted supplies from producing belts, mainly led to the rise in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
