Sri Lanka police says north violent group leader nabbed

Sri Lankan police today claimed that they have arrested the leader of a group in Tamil-dominated Jaffna blamed for the increasings incidents of gang violence in the north.
The Terrorist Investigation Division (TD) said at least 6 of them have been arrested three each from Jaffna and Colombo. Among them is Nisha Victor who is believed to be the leader of the group known as the Ava Group.
They have been blamed a series of sword attacks including the hacking of two policemen in Jaffna last week.
Police chief Pujith Jayasundera said that police would crackdown on the group with increased patrolling as the LTTE in their formative years had carried out similar violent attacks.
