SSCB and RSPB emerge champions in men's and women's sections

Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) and Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) emerged champions in men's and women's sections respectively on the final day of the Senior National Weightlifting Championships here.

RSPB's S Mirabai Chanu was declared best woman lifter, while S Sathish Kumar, also of RSPB, was adjudged the best male lifter from the competition.

The second position in the men's and women's divisions went to RSPB and Andhra Pradesh, respectively.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra bagged the first position in the Inter-State Team Championships, while Tamil Nadu ended as runners-up.

On the concluding day of the competition, Himanshu K Chang of RSPB finished on top of the podium with an overall lift of 363kg (161+202) in men's +105kg category and Haryana's Monika clinched the gold medal in +75kg weight division with an effort of 201kg (90+111).
