Statue of Kannagi found damaged

: An eight foot statue of Kannagi, the central figure in the tamil epic 'Silapathikaram' was found damaged near the district collectorate here.

The statue had been unveiled in 2010 by then district collector Sagayam.

Police said the statue was found broken last night and that steps were being taken to ascertain the culprits behind it.
