A division bench of justices P K Mohanty and B K Mishra adjourned the hearing of the case yesterday when the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) sought some more days to file its affidavit in response to the writ filed by 'Pratihari Nijog', a body of temple servitors.

The petition alleged that Sri Jagannath Temple Administration was illegally going ahead with demolishing the 'Nijog' office, located 27 feet from the boundary wall, known as Maghanad machery.

The HC had earlier allowed the Temple administration to remove all illegal structures located at a distance of 10 feet from the wall to retain the majesty of the Meghanad Pachery.
