Strike by mine workers of Singareni Collieries Company starts

The indefinite strike by the coal mine workers of Singareni Collieries Company Limited, began today, said police.

"Singareni workers are demanding the revival of Dependent Employment Scheme, and staged dharna," a senior police official said.

However, police claimed that around 82 per cent employees attended work on the first day of the strike.
