Student killed after being hit by train

A girl student, studying in a local polytechnic college, died after being hit by a passenger train in the Kalyanpur area near here, police said today.

Jyoti (22), a first year student of computer science, was talking on phone while crossing the railway track yesterday when she was hit by the Farrukhabad-Kanpur passenger train, leading to her death on the spot, they said.

The body has been sent for the post-mortem examination.

Further probes are on, police added.
