Sudhir Kumar to hold addl charge of Dept of Consumer Affairs

Food and Public Distribution Secretary Sudhir Kumar will hold additional charge of the Department of Consumer Affairs.

Kumar, a 1978-batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, will take charge on January 27 for a period of three months or till the appointment of a regular incumbent to the post, a Ministry of Personnel release said today.

The announcement follows the recent death of another 1978-batch UP cadre IAS officer, Pankaj Agarwal, who had been holding charge of the Department of Consumer Affairs.
