Sugar eases on higher supply

Sugar prices eased at the wholesale sugar market in the national capital today mostly due to ample supplies from mills against low demand from bulk consumers.

Marketmen said adequate stocks following increased supplies from mills mainly kept pressure on sugar prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 eased to Rs 3,100-3,300 and Rs 3,090-3,290 against last close of Rs 3,130-3,310 and Rs 3,120-3,300 per quintal respectively.

Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 weakened to Rs 2,900-3,145 and Rs 2,890-3,135 from previous level of Rs 2,910-3,160 and Rs 2,900-3,150 per quintal respectively.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal)

Sugar retail markets - Rs 32.00-35.00 per kg.
 

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,100-3,300 S-30 Rs 3,090-3,290.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs.2,900-3,145 S-30 Rs.2,890-3,135.

In the millgate section, Mawana and Kinnoni were down by Rs 10 and Rs 5 to Rs 3,080 and Rs 3,145 per quintal respectively.

Asmoli and Dorala were also weakened by Rs 10 and Rs 5 to Rs 3,120 and Rs 3,055 per quintal respectively.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana Rs.3,080, Kinnoni Rs.3,145 Asmoli Rs.3,120 Dorala Rs.3,055 Budhana Rs.3,035 Thanabhavan Rs.3,020 Dhanora Rs.3,025 Simbholi Rs.3,145 Modi Nagar Rs.2,985, Khatuli Rs.3,130 Dhampur (gila) Rs.2,930 Ramala Rs.2,940 Bulandshahr Rs.3,015 Anupshahr Rs.2,910 Baghpat Rs.2,950 Morna Rs.2,940 Sakoti Rs.3,000 Chandpur Rs.2,985 and Nazibabad Rs.2,930.
