Sugar falls on increased supplies

Sugar prices fell by Rs 60 per quintal at the wholesale sugar market in the national capital today on increased supplies from mills amidst low demand from stockists and bulk consumers.

Marketmen said adequate stocks following pick-up in supplies by mills from Uttar Pradesh ahead of "kaanwar yatra" against subdued offtake by bulk consumers put pressure on the sweetener prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices dropped by Rs 40 each to finish at Rs 3,360-3,480 and Rs 3,350-3,460 per quintal, respectively.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also fell by Rs 20 each to Rs 3,180-3,345 and Rs 3,160-3,325 per quintal.
 

In millgate section, prices of Nazibabad and Baghpat lost Rs 60 each to Rs 3,190 and Rs 3,210 per quintal, while Morna and Ramala asked lower by Rs 55 each to settle at Rs 3,205 per quintal.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 37.00-39.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 (Rs 3,360-3,480); S-30(Rs 3,350-3,460).

Mill delivery: M-30 (Rs 3,180-3,345); S-30 (Rs.3,160-3,325).

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana (Rs 3,255); Kinnoni (Rs 3,345); Asmoli (Rs 3,315); Dorala (Rs 3,260); Budhana (Rs 3,260); Thanabhavan (Rs 3,250); Dhanora (Rs.3,225); Simbholi (Rs 3,330); Modi Nagar (Rs 3,260); Khatuli (Rs 3,330); Dhampur (Rs 3,225); Ramala (Rs 3,205); Bulandshahr (Rs 3,215); Anupshahr (Rs 3,180); Baghpat (Rs 3,210); Morna (Rs 3,205); Sakoti (Rs 3,220); Chandpur (Rs 3,190) and Nazibabad (Rs 3,190).
