Sugar, maida up; gram dal down

Prices of sugar and maida went up, and gram dal declined while all other commodities ruled stady in the wholesale foodgrains market here today.

Sugar (quintal) and maida (90 kg) rose by Rs 50 each to Rs 3,300 and Rs 2,400, respectively.

Gram dal declined by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 3,900 from its previous close.

Thoor dal, urad dal, moong dal, wheat and sooji maintained their previous week closing rates.

Following are the wholesale rates of various agri- commodities today (in rupees per quintal, except stated otherwise): Thoor Dal Rs 7,300, urad Dal Rs 7,400, moong Dal Rs 9,900, gram Dal Rs 3,900, sugar Rs 3,300, wheat Rs 2,400, maida (90 kg) Rs 2,400 and sooji (90 kg) Rs 2,500.
