Sugar prices slipped on subdued demand

Both the varieties of sugar prices slipped at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to subdued demand from stockists and bulk consumers.

Medium sugar (M-30) fell by Rs 20 per quintal to Rs 4,002/4,220 from Monday's closing level of Rs 4,022/4,220.

Small sugar (S-30) also moved down by Rs 6 per quintal to Rs 3,966/4,006 as against Rs 3,966/4,012 previously.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,966/4,006 (Rs 3,966/4,012).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 4,002/4,220 (Rs 4,022/4,220).
