Sugar remains steady in thin trade

Steady conditions persisted at the wholesale sugar market today with prices moving in a narrow range on alternate bouts of trading and settled around previous levels.

Traders said adequate stocks position against sporadic demand mainly kept sugar prices steady.

The following are today's quotations per quintal:

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,070-3,320, S-30 Rs 3,060-3,310.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,860-3,130; S-30 Rs 2,850-3,120.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 3,000, Kinnoni 3,130, Asmoli 3,070, Dorala 3,000, Budhana 3,010, Thanabhavan 3,005, Dhanora 3,000, Simbholi 3,090, Modi Nagar Rs 2,990, Khatuli 3,085, Dhampur 2,975, Ramala 2,880, Bulandshar 2,975, Anupshar 2,860, Baghpat 2,890, Morna 2,890, Sakoti 2,940, Chandpur 2,955, Amroha N.T.
